Preheat oven to 200°C. Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Rub in butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs, then stir in chopped figs and walnuts. Make a well in the centre and add milk, mixing lightly with a knife until a soft dough forms. Turn onto a floured surface, gently knead a few times, then roll to 2cm thick and cut out scones. Place on a baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes until risen and golden.
